WATER LEVEL LOGGER

 Water Level Logger

Description

The Water Level Logger is a microprocessor controlled unit for automatically recording the water level at preprogrammed intervals. The equipment consists of a cylindrical probe which has a transducer incorporated into its base and a robust waterproof control unit which is connected to the probe. The probe is positioned in the water and the system measures the height of the water above the transducer. The probe has been redesigned so that it now has a smooth end and, if required, can be used directly in the ground without a dip well. The control box contains the display unit with the water level meter, logger and battery box. To increase the units flexibility the logger is detachable from the control box to enable it to be replaced in the field. The logger is setup and the data retrieved via an RS232 lead that is connected to an IBM PC or compatible. The logger is programmed with a text string, used to identify the logger, the logging time interval and automatically with the current date and time. When the data is retrieved, the text string, time and date of each reading and water height are obtained. The data is displayed graphically, and maximum and minimum values are shown. The data can be changed into various formats for exporting to spreadsheets etc. for further analyses.
