Radio Beam CounterRadio Beam People Counter (New small size)

Chambers Electronics have developed the well established Radio Beam People Counting Technology to produce a range of people counters that are the most advanced and reliable trail counters on the market today. The Radio Beam People Counters will operate under all weather conditions, including heavy rain and snow, and will give accurate counts. The counter consists of a radio transmitter and receiver, and operates by detecting the change in radio signal as a person walks between them. The counter is very adaptable and can be used for counting walkers, skiers, snowmobiles, cars etc. The transmitter and receiver can be set up to 8 metres apart (25 metres for the long distance unit) and can therefore be positioned far back from the path so that they cannot be seen. The counter has very low battery consumption and AA lithium batteries will last over a year. The unit is very easy to set up, as there is no cable between the two units. The sensor has a narrow beam and can therefore discriminate between individuals in groups if the unit is positioned where walkers normally walk in single file. The radio beam passes through thin wood and plastic so that the counter can be hidden behind signs etc. The new RBX5 standard unit is now considerably smaller than the previous models and we can now offer special posts which are designed to hold the counter so that they are completely hidden from sight. Signs are usually placed on these posts. Data loggers can be supplied which can record the number of pedestrians passing in preset time intervals.

We can also sell a unit based on our Radio Beam People Counter described above but uses a stronger beam and differentiates cars from people by the time the beam is broken. Please contact us if you are interested in this unit.

Radio Beam CounterDirectional Radio Beam Counter (RBX5D)

This unit uses Radio Beam Counting technology to count the number of people walking in each direction on a path. The counter uses two radio beams to determine which direction pedestrians pass. The counter consists of two units that are placed on either side of the path, and no cable is required to run between them, making installation very easy.

The units are supplied in very robust protective boxes which have no aperture as the radio beam passes through polycarbonate etc and therefore are unlikely to be interfered with.

The receiver displays the number of people that have passed in each direction on two LCD displays. LEDs indicate battery level and detected signal strengths of the two receivers. As an alternative loggers can be supplied which can record the number of pedestrians passing in each direction in preset time intervals

Step Counter

Chambers have been manufacturing Step People Counters for many years and they have proved reliable and very robust. The counters uses electronic sensors built into a very strong housing which is placed under the surface of the trail. The standard sensor is 1 metre x 0.5 metres but we can also supply sensors to enable this people counter to be used on stiles, and bridges etc. The sensor is very reliable and has a very long working life. The unit will operate for a year without the need to change the battery.

Gate Counter

The gate counter is simple to install and counts the number of times the gate opens. It uses a very small sensor which is easily hidden from sight. The circuitry eliminates false counts that might otherwise be caused by the gate bouncing as it closes etc. The counter has a very low current consumption and the unit can run for over a year without the need of changing the battery. This counter makes an accurate people counter if used on kissing gates etc.

Data logger

The Chambers logger can be used on all the outdoor people counters, it records the number of people counted in a preset time interval. It is very easy to use and requires no extra equipment as the recorded information is downloaded directly into a PC. To add extra flexibility the logger can now be unplugged from the counters so that it can be taken to a PC. The software provides a graphical display of the counts per period and allows the user to export the data into a spreadsheet etc.

The loggers are waterproof and are very robust and easily fit into a pocket.

If you want further information from your data, send us you data on disc or via email and we will analyse it for you.
