RADIO BEAM PEOPLE COUNTER RBX3
DescriptionChambers Electronics have developed Radio Beam Counting Technology to produce a people counter that is the most advanced and reliable trail counter on the market today. It will operate under all weather conditions, including heavy rain and snow, and will give accurate counts. The counter consists of a radio transmitter and receiver, and operates by detecting the change in radio signal as a person walks between them. The counter is very adaptable and can be used for counting walkers, skiers, snowmobiles, cars etc. The transmitter and receiver can be set up to 8 metres apart (25 metres for the long distance unit) and can therefore be positioned far back from the path so that they cannot be seen. The counter has very low battery consumption and batteries will last for up to 400 days. The unit is very easy to set up, as there is no cable between the two units. The sensor has a narrow beam and can therefore discriminate between individuals in groups if the unit is positioned where walkers normally walk in single file. The radio beam passes through thin wood and plastic so that the counter can be hidden behind signs etc.
Indoor useThe counter is also ideal for indoor counting as both the transmitter and receiver can be placed behind signposts, pictures etc.
Dual counting of people and horsesThe counter can be used for discriminating between people and horses and can be supplied with a dual output for counting both categories.
Specifications
Data logger:A microprocessor based data logger can be supplied which is connected to the receiver box. The logger records the number of people passing in a pre-set time interval. This information is retrieved and analysed by connecting the logger to a standard PC. The logger records data for up to 670 days if set at 1 hour interval.
Additional housing:A robust housing can be supplied in situations where vandals may damage the counter. The housing has low absorption to the radio beam and has tamper proof screws.
Separate battery and logger box:If required a separate waterproof box can be provided for the battery and logger in situations where this would be beneficial.
